Founded in 2014 by a team of tritium specialists, smolsys ltd. focused on laser processing of glass for the encapsulation of gases and/or technical microsystems, especially gaseous tritium light source manufacturing.

A new, flexible, and very safe way to set up such a production for tritium was found in the form of a modular «Plug & Produce» pop-up production cell (laboratory). Since it was proven to be optimal for tritium and high-compliance work, it became smolsys’ trademark and is already in use by customers working with tritium.

In 2016, smolsys’ newly founded medical division focused on ultra-short pulse glass laser processing for medical implants. In 2022, the medical glass division was transferred to a world-renowned wafer technology company. Today, Yalosys AG (www.yalosys.com) offers cutting-edge technology in the field of optical laser glass processing.

In 2022, the smolsys high vacuum technology product line was formed to satisfy our needs for reliable tritium-compatible products for automation projects. Today, we offer a wide range of process equipment for hydrogen isotope handling challenges, including analytics.

In 2024, a 3D printer for the dental industry was developed as an automation project and spun off under the company name «adartys GmbH.»
